How to avoid being ripped off by Steam’s currency mismatch

If you live in Switzerland and buy games on Steam, you’re probably used to Valve ripping you off royally on game prices. They only allow payments in EUR from here, even though the same game, if you could pay in USD, would be up to 30% cheaper.

This is more than a rip-off. Valve fistfuck you in the ass, kill you and proceed to necrorape your slowly cooling corpse with this system.

In some cases, however, you can avoid that most unhappy outcome by buying your game unlock code in USD from someone else and registering on Steam. I just saved 50% on Borderlands 2 thanks to these guys:
